Dreamentia, Inc.
Thanks to passionate clients, new Dreamentians and a brand new website, DCL soars into 2010 on the wings of momentum.
Our new website isn’t the only recent upgrade in Dreamentiaville. In fact, we’ve also hired three new employees and landed a slew of new business ventures. Add that to the work we did throughout 2009 for clients like Dormbuys.com, Formosa Betrayed, L&R Parking, Cookie Casa Bakery and a pair of NBA squads, and you’ve got a group that’s got a lot to be thankful for heading into 2010.
So much so that it deserves a list. But since everyone always gives their top ten, we thought we’d add a little pizzazz and go with lucky number thirteen. ‘Cause, you know, we have to do things the Dreamentian way.
13 Things Dreamentia Was Thankful For In 2009:
1. An Awesome Working Environment
One can never discount the vibe of an office. Especially a creative workspace that recently added three new vibrant spirits. Granted, we had to undertake a lengthy hiring process to do so, but the positive energy we gained made everything worthwhile.
2. Clients that are Second to None
We had a blast this year, building and expanding brands. Here’s a brief run-down on everyone we had the pleasure of working with.
3. DORMBUYS.COM: We went pedal to the metal with Dormbuys this year. Starting with the one-stop shop for college stuff in the final months of 2008, our team threw themselves into the college lifestyle by digging into past, present and future student trends, surveying collegiates’ purchasing habits, and even planting ourselves onto campus quads and into the inner sanctum of universities themselves. Throughout the year, we revamped Dormbuys.com’s site, revved up the company’s promotional efforts, and introduced a monthly newsletter with topics that have covered everything from fact-or-fiction and lifestyle trends to seasonal stories and tips that help to make college a fun and memorable experience.
4. FORMOSA BETRAYED: Based on actual events, Formosa Betrayed is a feature film rooted in a large Chinese Nationalist conspiracy that the United States holds ties to. And for the past four years, we’ve worked on everything from their pitch packets to their key art. But once Formosa Betrayed inked a distribution deal with Screen Media films in October – which, beginning February 28, 2010, will put the film in theaters – we were graced with the opportunity to add one more thing to our have-done list for this project – create U.S. as well as international marketing materials for this soon-to-be-talked-about controversial film.
5. PACIFIC PARK MANAGEMENT: In the spring, we joined PPM at Oracle Arena, home of the Golden State Warriors, tasked with turning a portion of the arena’s parking lot into an easy come, easy go VIP lot for floor-seat über-important season ticket holders. Together with the award-winning architect firm, LeannArch, we pitched a strategic design (that helped PPM win the contract) that will keep fans from having to leave early, just so they can beat the crowds.
6. WALLYPARK: Winter [and L&R Group of Companies] unveiled our second opportunity to associate with a team from the NBA. Only this time, it was the Los Angeles Lakers, who play just down the street from our creative labs. Working with WallyPark, LAX’s luxurious airport parking facility, our team set out to help the white-gloved parking company make the most of their 2009/2010 sponsorship of the famous franchise. By the end of the year, we’d produced an entire sponsorship package for WallyPark, which we’ll continue to build upon throughout the rest of the season. The package includes print ads, direct mail pieces, in-arena giveaways, booth set-ups and handouts, VIP promotions, and much more.
7. COOKIE CASA BAKERY: The innovative bakery formerly known as “Cookie Casa” needed a name change after their cakes, bars and cupcakes started to gain some fame of their own. And with a new name came more involvement for us, as we’ve been working with Cookie Casa for 7 years. Now that their tasty treats will be making their way through the streets of Los Angeles – they were just picked up by The Sweets Truck – everyone will soon know that the Cookie Casa Bakery batch includes much more than their mouthwatering cookies. On our end, we’ve been baking up a storm of great ideas for CCB all year, and are poised to execute them in full force throughout 2010.
8. ZANKOU CHICKEN: Sometimes, the greatest things come when you least expect them. And for us, working with Zankou Chicken has become Exhibit A. Partnering initially for some cup and bag designs for their locations in the Los Angeles area, 2010 appears as if it will be a banner year for both companies. In the coming months, we’ll be designing menu boards and other in-store items for the restaurant that provides the most natural, fastest, freshest, and tastiest Mediterranean food in the world.
9. OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: At the top of ’09, we were tasked with re-themeing Oakland International Airport’s parking lot so they could better contend with off-airport lots and their cheaper costs to travelers driving themselves to the airport. From unearthing “Footsteps From Your Flight” to designing new signage, bus wraps, and promotions, OAK is definitely taking what we believe are the appropriate steps to overcome their off-airport lot competitors.
10. VERGENCE ENTERTAINMENT: And what would a Dreamentian year be like without Vergence Entertainment? Working with the creators of Ringorang and Pipsqwakz, our team was incredibly busy this year; creating new concepts, designs and campaigns for games, websites, pitches, presentations, iPhone apps, style guides, and everything in between.
11. New Employees that Rule
They came in the form of unique individuals, poised to add new flair to the Dreamentian air. First, Nathalie Iracheta brought forth a zest for life and excitement for digging up research and strategic problem solving. Then, bearing all sorts of hats, Jameca Lyttle entered the fold and unveiled a passion for adding an extra set of hands [and brain cells] to every task within the office. And finally, Brenda Carmona swooped in with a laundry list of ideas as well as new business opportunities ready to be pursued. “To replace them all,” said Sr. AE Brandi Sweeney, “we’d need at least six people.”
12. An Updated Agency Website as well as iDreamentia
Our new site is easily visited at www.Dreamentia.com. Although you probably knew that. And our constantly updated News & Blog - what we call iDreamentia - is right where you’re currently standing. But you probably knew that too. ‘Nough said.
13. Momentum
On the heels of 2009, our team is primed to take some even bigger steps in 2010. Between the versatility of our rock solid clientele [including some new business ventures that are still locked away in secrecy] and the vibe that resides within our walls, something awfully intriguing is brewing at Dreamentia Creative Laboratories. Riding the scent of momentum, the sky’s limit is the one we’re looking to soar beyond this year.
